Current Funding Opportunities
American Studies Faculty Research Fellowship
This fellowship supports innovative pedagogical, research, travel, or programming proposals that promote American Studies via research, teaching, or other imaginative approaches to the field.
Fellows receive up to $2000 (maximum funding; lower amounts will be funded). Funding might support archival travel or conference travel; development of curriculum labs; blogs or podcasts; programming at Storrs or regional campuses; equipment, books, or other research-related needs; or curriculum needs. Other types of funding will also be considered.
This grant competition is open to all current faculty at UConn who are working in American Studies or American Studies-related areas.
Apply to the Fellowship
The application period for the current academic year is now closed.
To apply, please submit the following materials as a single PDF via the online application portal:
- A one-to-two-page proposal that explains how you will use the funding and how your proposal promotes research, pedagogy, or other American Studies-related innovations.
- A CV and a detailed budget of how you plan to use the money (this need not count as part of the proposal page count).
Generally, funds are awarded in April and must be spend by the end of August each year. Fellows must submit a detailed report of how they spent the funds to Martha Cutter, Area Director for American Studies.
