Current Funding Opportunities

American Studies Faculty Research Fellowship

The American Studies Faculty Research Fellowship supports interdisciplinary scholarship in American Studies and related fields.

Fellows receive up to $1,000 each, which can be used for research-related expenses such as travel, indexing, copyediting, permissions, publication assistance, language acquisition, or other needs.

Apply to the Fellowship

The application period for the 2025-2026 academic year will open in fall 2025.

To apply, please email these materials to the Area Director of American Studies by the deadline:

  • A budget.
  • A CV.
  • A brief description (250-300 words) of the project and its status. The description should also disclose other sources of funding for the project.

Applications will be reviewed by the American Studies Executive Committee. Priority will be given to junior faculty, though all faculty are eligible to apply.
